I'm not sure what Nancy drew as a beginning for this painting, but it would have been landscape or plant life. I particularly like the contrast of curvilinear shapes against the strong vertical line on the right. A great use of complementary contrast with the warm to cool reds and warm to cool greens and, then, the cheeky addition of two blue touches. White is used to good design advantage in this painting as it leads the eye throught the painting and connects top to bottom and right to left side. Hey, Nance, bet you didn't think this little piece could be so informative.
